Road Closures

There will be two types of road closures at this event, a "hard" closure and a "soft" closure. The "hard" closures will not be opened during the course of the event except for emergency vehicles. The "soft" closures will have timed openings, what this means is that if you reach a "soft" closure during the event, you will be asked to wait until the safest time for it to open for your crossing. Please be aware of the closure locations and plan accordingly between the hours of 10am and 3pm.

How to get here:

  • If you are too far to walk or bike to our event, the Metro Green Line Lakewood Station is conveniently located near the route on Lakewood Blvd. Use the Metro Trip Planner on metro.net/ to help find your way here. The Metro Rail welcomes bikes, strollers and wheelchairs. For more information on taking bikes on Metro and tips for riding safely, visit Metro.net/bikes.
  • If you are driving to the event the City of Downey is in the center of the 605, 105, 5, and 710 freeways.

Parking

Public parking will be available at all city parks the day of the event.  There will also be a shuttle service picking up from the following locations in a continuous loop.  The shuttles will drop off along the route.

  • Furman Park
  • Apollo Park
  • Stonewood Mall
  • Warren High School
  • Downey High School
  • Public Parking Structure on 2nd St. & New St.
  • Downey Civic Center
